Little has been said about the École L’Odyssée girls rugby team this year. While sharing a division with the AAA provincial champs, BMHS and the team who recently bested them, MHS, it might be easy to overlook the other provincial finalist from just one year ago.
Veteran coach Yves Pellerin has been very impressed with the play of his rookies and his side has quietly opened up with a 2-0 record after last nights win over École Mathieu-Martin. The 25-12 final score was a result of ODC jumping out to a 20-0 lead. Great adjustments by MM brought the score close at 20-12 before the final try from ODC.
If you’re in the Riverview area today, ODC Girls are doing a fundraiser BBQ at the Riverview Kents!!!
Two members of this team are on the New Brunswick Spruce Senior Women’s provincial team; Coline Ramade and Selina Hebert. They are scheduled to play Nova Scotia Keltic today at 4PM in NS. Good Luck to all the NB Women.
This coming week for ODC will see them play Riverview, BMHS and MHS. This is no small order. Winning 2/3 of those games may be required to advance to the semi final. Should they be successful against Riverview and bring a 3-0 record into play the 1 loss BMHS team, we maybe looking at an elimination game between the two and a rematch of last years final. However, overlooking RHS would not be advisable.
