This past Friday (May 8th and 9th) saw JMA High School host a local girls rugby tournament and also debut the JMA High School Girls Rugby Team. In their first taste of High School Girls Rugby, JMA showed great commitment and dedication through 3 hard played games. The official High School season kicks off this week.

BMHS had to defend their goal line many times from MHS attack. Only once did MHS get through. BMHS kept is close long enough for them to capitalize on a feilding error and even the score. 7-7 was the final.
Six teams from our local area attended; JMA, École L’Odyssée, École Mathieu-Martin, Riverview High School, with Moncton High School and Bernice MacNaughton High School sharing the best result of a 2 win 1 tie record each. The tie being the result of a 7-7 draw between both teams.

A New one even for the Rugby field. Cow Patty Bingo. Guess where the patty will land and you can be a winner.
A great crowd of supporters, fine weather, very good field conditions and six very competitive teams made this a very successful event. A special thanks to JMA High, the Town of Salisbury, The Pizza Mill, Laurie Moreton, Dr Mike Cochran, Sparx Wellness and most importantly Mike Cazzwell for organizing the event and coaching the JMA Rugby team.
Can’t wait until next year!
